About Company

NGO Shamir has been operating in Latvia since 2004. Our goal is to preserve Jewish culture, history, and memory about the tragic events of the Holocaust.

Association Shamir is actively engaged in publishing books and educational literature on the history of the Latvian Jewish community, publishing maps, videos and other informational materials. In total, about 40 books in 7 languages were published.

The leading project of Association Shamir is the creation and maintenance of the Riga Ghetto and Latvian Holocaust Museum. The activities of the Association Shamir include publishing books, creating exhibitions, organizing concerts and commemorative events, educational projects, conferences and filming documentaries.
